摘要：A method and apparatus for recording and/or reproducing data to and/or from
a medium are discussed. According to an embodiment, the apparatus includes a detectionunit configured to detect distinction information capable of distinguishing mediummanufacturer; a storage unit configured to store reference writing parameter
information, the reference writing parameter information including multiple distinctioninformation for indicating medium manufacturer and reference writing parameterscorresponding to medium manufacturers; and a controller configured to determine awriting parameter by an optimum writing parameter test within a test range configuredby the reference writing parameter, the reference writing parameter being selected fromthe reference writing parameter information based on the detected distinctioninformation.
