摘要：A sheet length control system for use in connection with a material feeding andmaterial processing apparatus to maintain uniform treatment of the material asprocessed by the processing apparatus within a predetermined and desired tolerance.Such material processing apparatus is exemplified in the use of a cutoff machine to cutinto equal desired sheet lengths a continuously moving web of material. Digitizer meansare used to produce signals the ratio of which is representative of the desired sheetlength and the amount that the ratio of the signals varies from the desired sheet lengthratio is used to produce an error signal indicative of whether the sheet length cut isshorter or longer than the predetermined sheet length value. Error band selective meansreceives the error signal produced to produce a signal characteristic of the errormagnitude. Means are provided to be responsive to the error band selective signal forcorrecting the sheet length to correspond to the predetermined sheet length valuewithin an acceptable tolerance.
